About Katerina

In summer of 2022, I knew I was ready for a change in career. I started taking the steps to make that happen. In late fall of 2022, I attended a Shadow Me program with Kane9 Dog Training & Advocacy near Madison, WI. This really helped me solidify that this path was what I wanted! Kait is amazing and has helped shape the way I desire to run my business.

In January of 2023, I went to Starmark Academy, a School for Professional Dog Trainers. There I learned the basic’s of how dogs learn and how to teach obedience. I worked with two rescue dogs during my time and even took one of them home with me - Neisha! After I graduated my program, I completed a 6 week internship at a local dog training facility. They then hired me full time shortly after and I was there for about a year.

I am grateful for my experiences and support along the way! I am excited to get Black Onyx Dog Training off the ground and help dog owners live their best lives with their dogs!

Qualifications:

• 3 day Shadow Me program with Kait from Kane9 Dog Training & Advocacy, WI (2022)

• 4 weeks at Starmark Academy, a School for Professional Dog Trainers, TX (2023)

• 6 week Internship at a local dog training facility (2023)

• 1 year of employment as a Dog Trainer at a local dog training facility, training over 80 dogs (2023-2024)

• AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluator, includes Trick Dog Evaluations (2023)

• Certified in Pet CPR and First Aid (2023)

• Group Class Game Changer seminar with Top Dog Texas (2023)

• Completion of Guided Level 1 Course with Training Between The Ears (TBTE) (2023)

• AKC Fetch Judge (2024)

• AKC Temperament Test Evaluator (2024)
